Atelier Brisure

Five hotels, one place to book

Website and direct booking proposal for Hôtels Rhône Méridien, with three options. Prepared by Atelier Brisure, Lyon, 7 June 2027.

The brief

What you asked us to solve

With the Arles hotel joining in spring, Hôtels Rhône Méridien now runs five websites on three platforms. Guests book direct 18 percent of the time; the rest goes through booking platforms at up to 22 percent commission.

You asked how to bring the five sites together and raise direct bookings to 30 percent by the end of 2028. There is more than one sensible way to do that.

Below are three options, what each costs you in money and in brand, and the one we recommend. If we have misread the group's priorities, tell us before the fees.

Option A, one group site

One domain, five hotel sections, one booking flow and one design system. Highest effort, lowest running cost, and the strongest case for booking direct. This is the option we recommend and the one priced below.

Group website with five hotel cards

Option B, five sites, one platform

Each hotel keeps its own domain and look, built from shared components. About 20 percent more to build and to maintain, and guests still cannot compare hotels in one search.

Five phones in a row with different coloured screens

Option C, shared booking only

Leave the five sites as they are and replace only the booking engine. Cheapest now at roughly €46,000, but the 4.6 second load times stay, and so does most of the commission.

Twenty weeks, then a quiet launch

Léa Fontanel leads design and Bastien Roche the build. We launch in mid-January, the quietest booking fortnight of your year.

Discovery, weeks 1 to 2

A day at each hotel with reception and revenue, plus your Mews and analytics data.

Structure, weeks 3 to 5

One sitemap for five hotels, content types in Storyblok, and a redirect map for 2,300 URLs.

Design, weeks 6 to 12

Design system, hotel and room templates, and the booking flow tested with real guests.

Build, weeks 12 to 15

Next.js on Vercel, Mews Booking Engine API, French, English and German from day one.

Assumptions

The questions hotel groups ask us most often, answered before you have to.

Who writes and translates the content

Each hotel's team supplies room descriptions and photography by 5 November; we edit for length and tone. Translation into English and German is managed by us through Storyblok and billed at cost.

What happens to the five existing domains

Each redirects, page by page, to its hotel section on the group site. We map all 2,300 URLs and test them on staging before cutover, so search rankings carry across.

Why launch in January

It is your quietest fortnight for bookings, so a problem on launch day costs least. Moving launch into the spring means rebuilding during peak booking season, which we advise against.

What if we choose option B or C

We would reissue this proposal for that option within a week. The discovery stage is the same for all three, so you can start it before deciding.

Browsers, devices and accessibility

Current Safari, Chrome, Edge and Firefox on desktop and mobile. WCAG 2.2 AA throughout, which also matters for the European Accessibility Act.

Our recommendation, and the next step

We recommend option A. If you would rather decide after discovery, approve the first stage alone for €9,450 HT and we start on 6 September either way.
